Allowing the user to walk up to and examine enormously detailed and massive sized images and clearly see their minute detail!


What is unique about panoram.io is that the viewing technology allows for unlimited zoom with ever increasing detail for a viewer using a virtual reality headset, the viewer can move in closer and closer to an image and get ever increasing detail in the image. It is like standing next to an enormous billboard that may be 300 feet tall and 1000 feet long but still printed at 300 dpi with image detail all the way. This requires the photographer to create enormous gigapixel images (some are up to 300 to 1000 gigapixels in size, that is 300 billition to One Trillion pixels!) The photographers create these amazing detailed images using special robotic camera mounts to take a series of up to tens of thousands of regular digital images with a high powered zoom lens that scans across a scene in rows and columns with slight overlap to capture an entire scene. The photographer then uses software such as PtGui to 'stitch' these images into one large image that may be enormously larger than an individual image used to create the scene.

Panoram.io viewing software is the first software package that comfortably allows a virtual reality headset user to zoom in to a gigapixel image with ever increasing streaming detail.
Panoram.io create this virtual enormous billboard through a patent pending algorithm to determine which tiles would be best to present to a viewer at a particular spot in 3d-space so that a minimum of data is transmitted to create the highest resolution scene possible for the user at that particular virtual position.
